Audi Engine History
- 1899 : On 14 November ‘August Horch’ set up the company with Cie.
- 1901 : ‘August Horch’ build up his first Horch car at Ehrenfeld district of Cologne. Which horse power was 4-5HP.
- 1904 : A Horch & Cie launched Motorwagen-Werke AG in Zwicka.The first 'Original Neckarsulm Motor Car' with 1308 cc four-cylinder engine and 10 hp launched.
- 1907 : Jrgen Skafte Rasmussen established on his own as a manufacturer of boiler fittings and effort on a steam-driven vehicle (“Dampfkraftwagen”)
- 1913 : The first Wanderer car with a 5/12 hp four-cylinder engine was check driven and it went into progression of manufacture.
- 1914 : The Alpine Challenge Trophy was on hand to the Audi drivers on 27 June.
- 1921 : Audi became the first German car producer to present a production car with left-hand drive, the Audi Type K.
- 1926 : Paul Daimler launched the first German eight cylinder car name ‘Horch 303 Berlin’.
- 1928 : Rasmussen launched the DKW car (600 cc, 15 hp) at Spandau district of Berlin, The car, which had a load-bearing body sheltered in imitation leather, had rear-wheel drive.
- 1931 : J. S. Rasmussen get the majority of shares in Audiwerke AG. He had the DKW little car with front-wheel drive formed in large numbers at this company.
- 1932 : The four Saxon automobile brands Audi, DKW, Horch and Wanderer joined forces to make Auto Union AG on 29th June which had its head office in Chemnitz.
- 1933 : At the Berlin Motor Show, automobile Union AG launched the new Audi, its first standard-size passenger car with front-wheel drive.
- 1934 : The new automobile Union received its most excellent popularity improvement with the achievement of a racing car design that was base on strategy by Ferdinand Porsche.
- 1950 : Auto Union produced its first post-war passenger car in August , The DKW Meisterklasse F 89 P, and was available as a saloon and a four-seater Karmann convertible.
- 1953 : Auto Union set up a new three-cylinder model at German Motor Show name of “3=6 Sonderklasse”.
- 1955 : Werke AG proudly announced a total production volume of 342,583 two-wheeled vehicles Neckarsulm.
- 1963 : The open-top two-seater Wankel Spider on the NSU place at the Motor Show. This little two-seater had a single-rotor rotary piston engine at the back.
- 1967 : NSU presented a completely new model, the NSU Ro 80 the upper mid-size category. Its excellent element was a 115 bhp twin-rotor rotary piston engine.
- 1968 : Auto Union invited dealers and the press to be present at the presentation of the recently designed Audi 100 at the Ingolstadt City Theatre On 26 November launched by technical director Dr. Ludwig Kraus.
- 1969 : NSU Motorenwerke AG, which had now been taken over by VW, and the Ingolstadt-based Auto Union GmbH combined to form Audi NSU Auto Union AG, and its head office in Neckarsulm.
- 1972 : The Audi 80 was launched by the chairman of technical engineering Dr. Ludwig Kraus.
- 1974 : Audi introduced the smallest car in the Audi model range, the Audi 50.
- 1980 : A four-wheel-drive sports vehicle Audi quattro caused a genuine impression on the Audi stand at the Geneva Motor Show.
- 1982 : Audi NSU Auto Union AG launched the third-generation Audi 100.
- 1985 : Audi NSU automobile Union AG was changed new name was AUDI AG and its head office moved from Neckarsulm to Ingolstadt.
- 1986 : AUDI AG launched the third generation of the Audi 80, known internally as the B3.
- 1988 : AUDI AG moved into the premium class for the first time with the production of the Audi V8.
- 1989 : The Audi 100 was launched at the Frankfurt Motor Show with a 2.5-litre five-cylinder TDI engine.
- 1991 : Audi launched two amazing sports auto ‘the Audi quattro Spyder at the Frankfurt Motor Show’ and ‘the Audi Avus quattro at the Tokyo Motor Show’.
- 1993 : For a few years AUDI AG had been working jointly with the Aluminum Company of America on the creation of a lightweight aluminium establishment car. The result was obtained at the Frankfurt Motor Show: the aluminium study known as the Audi Space Frame.
- 1994 : AUDI AG launched its new model in the premium segment, the Audi A8 at the Geneva Motor Show.
- 1996 : AUDI AG launched the first representative of the compact class called the Audi A3.
- 2000 : AUDI AG launched the first volume-built aluminium car called Audi A2 in June.
